Astro Boy is often regarded as an originator of both Anime and Manga. The TV series (1963) was based on the original Manga (1952) by Osamu Tezuka. It was in production for 4 years and syndicated worldwide. This 2-cel setup on its key hand-painted background features Astro Boy from the 1963 series.
