Tom and Jerry debuted in 1940. From 1963-1967, animation legend Chuck Jones produced the series, modifying the look of the cartoon with his Looney Tunes sensibilities. This 4-cel setup from the theatrical short “Filet Meow” features Jerry protecting the fish Goldie from Tom’s relentless attacks. If you look closely, the cel code hand-written in the bottom right-hand corner, framed in-camera by mistake, can be seen during the cartoon.
