The Care Bears television series was based on the characters created for American Greetings greeting cards after the success of two animated specials. The series was produced from 1985-1988. This 2-cel setup is comprised of a foreground featuring Hugs Bear, Tugs Bear, and Grumpy Bear from Episode 33 “No Business like Snow Business” and a hand-painted background from Episode 16 “Desert Gold.”
